Oral Cancer in Plymouth, MN

Even non-smokers and non-drinkers are at risk for oral cancer.

Dr Geisler and team of dentists in Plymouth, MN perform routine screening exams at each recall visit.  Early detection of cancerous lesions can be difficult, however, as tissue changes may not be readily apparent until the cancer has progressed.

Current research is promising in the development of an in-office test.  This test would analyze saliva for certain proteins which are indicative of squamous cell carcinomas.

We look forward to hearing more news about early detection of certain types of oral cancer.
